My MythTV-Box
I am currently running a backend/frontend combo.
Hardware
- MSI MEGAPC 651 (MS-6760)
- 1 GB RAM
- Celeron 1800 MHz
- 80 GB Harddisk
- Hauppauge DVB-C (full featured)
- ATI Radeon 9600XT
Software
- Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper)
- MythTV 0.20 (compiled from sources)
- 65 GB storage using XFS as filesystem
ToDos
- MPEG4-NUV to AVI export without recoding
- Getting a bigger harddrive
- Lower the noise of the box (or get a better one)
- Try adding a case fan and disable CPU-Fan speedup
- Remote-Control
- Replace the crappy DVD-ROM drive (does not read all DVDs) by a DVD-Recorder
- Get MythArchive to work
- Buy powerline network to remove the CAT5-Cable lying across the whole room ;-)
