Could somebody update this page with where exactly this VLC command needs to be added in mythtv? I can't figure it out from this description... --jetpeach 10/21/08

In utils/setup > setup > media settings > video > playback there's a box where you'd enter the command used to play videos. NB this also applies to the DVD & VCD playback commands. FWIW the Internal player should be sufficient for everybody's needs. If anyone has problems playing files/media with it, report them & they can be fixed. -- justinh 23 Oct 08

Please see the change log from 0.8.6i to 0.9.0 related to the vlc://quit command as opposed to the vlc:quit command that worked on older builds before rudely reverting the page. Bobpaul 17:23, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

My bad. I even checked the vlc wiki where it still said vlc:quit. I figured someone saw the vlc file:// syntax and blindly changed it. Jflatt 16:00, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
