I'd like to know which cable providers are doing this supposed "forcing" people to move to digital.  Comcast in Tennessee has been lame about it by using some deliberately vague language to excuse taking HSN and G4TV (no great loss on either count) away from Extended Basic cable subscribers and make them go to digital, but I've not heard anything more serious or usual than that going on. -- [[User:Dagmar d'Surreal|Dagmar d'Surreal]] 04:16, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

*Comcast in Seattle is a good example.  They will be keeping analog channels 2-29 ("Limited Basic"), but will move channels 30-80 ("Expanded Basic") to digital.  They will give out up to three barebones tuners for free, with additional tuners available for rental for a monthly fee.  Many people are NOT happy with this change, as it impacts analog TIVO users, adds another box for each TV, adds another remote, etc, etc. Here's one of the many news reports on the change: http://www.king5.com/business/stories/NW_120808BUBTIMES_comcast-cabel-switch-JM.42181bf3.html, and there is tons of information in the Seattle Comcast thread at AVS Forum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=15450231). - [[User:DStulken|DStulken]] 04:43, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

-- Dagmar d'Surreal 04:16, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
