Bounty:    Initial offering of $50US from me, I have setup a Fundable fundraiser action here: https://www.fundable.org/groupactions/mythtvbounty-percard-volume, the goal is $500, but if we go over that, great. If someone wants to claim the bounty, the patch must be submitted via the MythTV TRAC system and be committed to SVN. The time frame on the Fundable action is 25 days, but I think it can be extended. Any pledges made are not actually cashed until I say so, and will go to me, and I will submit to the developer. Fundable takes 7% off the top, and I believe paypal will take 3%, so the total bounty would be less 10% for overhead.<br>

Why does this page exist?

This page is created with the intent that people who want features now are willing to pay someone to develop them.

How to use this page

When you decide what it is you need, and have made a diligent effort to determine if the feature is not already existing, you should:

  • Login to the wiki
  • Edit this page
  • Add your entry to the *end* of the list
  • The bounty should contain precisely what you are asking for as well as the offered amount. If you are interested in adding to the bounty of a specific feature, add your amount to the total and submit your added contribution amount to the link provided at the end of the bounty. In other words, donate to the PayPal link provided (if that is the case) the amount you are willing to donate to the feature.
  • A bounty is between the entity (person) creating the initial bounty and the developer who accepts it. The more people adding to the bounty, the more likely the bounty will be accepted. In the event the bounty is not accepted, the amount donated to the central location can be used towards another existing bounty or a new bounty request until the bounty is accepted. In other words, don't donate unless you can part with that money forever regardless of whether the feature is implemented or not. If you cannot agree with this, contact the developer of that section directly and offer your personal bounty.
  • As a developer accepting bounties, updates should be provided in the trac ticket if provided, or with the person originating the bounty offering.
  • Provide a link at the end of your entry to a location where the bounty will be centrally collected, and later dispersed from (such as a PayPal donation account, a company backing the bounty, etc)
  • If it is known, list the devloper who is desired to do the developing (their area of "expertise")
  • Trac is not a place to place feature requests. Instead use the Wiki Wishlist and link to your wish/feature request. If your bounty is accepted, the developer can choose how to proceed and if Trac will be where progress is tracked.

  • What this page is NOT

      This is not tech support!
This is not an advertising medium!

Bounty systems that should not be used

  • Isaac made an 'executive decision' to nix http://www.fundable.org

  • Begin bounty listings:

Please note, this first one is an example of a feature that exists
    <Begin Example>:

    Example Music Request

Request: Add music support to mythtv
Details: The ability to play music within the mythtv interface, using MythTV fuctionality (such as LIRC implementation) to flip through and fast forward/rewind tracks.
Bounty: Initial offering of $20 MythTV Bounty
Contact: My email address is foo@bar.com
    </End Example>

    Per Card Volume Control

Request: Add per capture card volume control
Requestor: Tom Lichti Details: In myth-setup for each card there should be a volume control and perhaps check box to enable the stting for that card that would over-ride the global volume setting. A 0-100% slider would probably be most user friendly. There is a rather old patch here: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/dev/20569 that might give some insight
Bounty: Initial offering of $50US from me, I have setup a Fundable fundraiser action here: https://www.fundable.org/groupactions/mythtvbounty-percard-volume, the goal is $500, but if we go over that, great. Any pledges made are not actually cashed until I say so, and will go to me, and I will submit to the developer. Fundable takes 7% off the top, and I believe paypal will take 3%, so the total bounty would be less 10% for overhead.
